Y2K Readiness Statement

1. Requirements and Definition

HICom sees the following as the requirements to be "Y2K Ready":

a. Year 2000 (Y2K) Readiness refers to date-sensitive equipment to properly transitioning the date from December 31, 1999 to January 1, 2000.
b.Equipment must be able to set its clock to the correct date and time, even after January 1, 2000 and operate as one would expect a clock to operate.
c. Computer programs that rely on a 2-digit year format must function properly when presented with years starting at 00.  Certain critical dates both before and after January 1, 2000 must be handled correctly.  Where appropriate the year 2000 must be interpreted as a leap year.

2. Approach

HICom personnel have been actively  involved with Y2K conversion, retrofit, program and equipment replacement, and other techniques since 1997.   Our approach has been to only utilize devices, programs, and services that are certified Y2K compliant.

3. Supplier Certification

Our major suppliers have certified that they are Y2K compliant.

4. Client Responsibility

HICom's clients must perform their independent assessment of Y2K compliance, including (but not limited to) any programs obtained by them and loaded onto HICom's web and ftp servers.  All client equipment Y2K testing, correction, and any consequences are the responsibility of the client.

5. Contingency

We have identified a contingency plan should some of our equipment not function properly during the transition into Y2K.

6. Conclusion

HICom's network and systems are Y2K compliant.
