Under "The following network components are installed:"
you need to see:
Dial-up Adapter
TCP/IP
(Optional)Client for Microsoft Network
The primary network logon must say "Windows Logon"
If you see "Client for Microsoft Network" under "The following network
components are installed:", skip this step. Otherwise,
install "Client for Microsoft Network".
Click on the "Identification" Tab.
Set your computer name to your user-id
You can leave the Workgroup name alone.
Under the "Access Control" tab. No changes are needed.
Click on the "Configuration" tab
Highlight "Client for Microsoft Networks",
click PROPERTIES. Unless you are on a LAN (in which case talk to
your LAN administrator), ONLY the "quick logon" button should be
clicked.
Reboot
After Windows95 restarts, it will ask you for a password to logon to
the network. DO NOT specify a password. (Most folks, anyway)
The exception is when you'r on a LAN - talk to your LAN admin.
