POP3 eMail Boxes
Each eMail box uses a POP3 Userid and Password.
You may change your email password (NOT your email Userid) by going to the
following link from WITHIN HICom only: Change
Email Password
POP3 mailboxes are accessible using a POP3 mail client
program such as Microsoft Outlook Express, Eudora, Pine, etc. You may
also send/receive mail via the web page: mail.hicom.net
from anywhere you have access to an internet connection and browser.
AutoAnswer: Should you be away from your eMail for an
extended time, you may wish to inform your senders of this. An
auto-answer eMail message for your POP3 account can be activated her: AutoAnswer
Anti-SPAM: If you desire, we will scan all inbound
messages for SPAM. After the initial setup for the SPAM filter has
been done by HICom staff, the criteria for removing SPAM will be totally
under your control from here. The
(apparent) SPAM will be retained outside your normal eMail stream for about
30 days so you may confirm that no "false positive" SPAM has been
trapped.

POP3 eMail for Domains
If your domain is hosted by HICom you may receive your eMail
via POP3 or SMTP. In order for this to work, your domain has to
resolve to a HICom server for eMail and/or Website/FTP.
If you chose to receive your eMail via SMTP, HICom will
provide up to two (2) queue locations should your connection or mail server
be down. This means that a potential sender will be able to send an
email message to you even if your connection or server is down.
However you will not be able to receive the message until the connection or
server is back up. Also, the sender will see a warning message that
your mail has not been delivered if your mail server is unavailable for more
than 4 hours.
If you chose to receive your eMail via POP3, HICom will
provided up to 20 POP3 eMail accounts at no additional charge as part of
your domain or web hosting and parse mail into these POP3 mailboxes based on
an alias name list provided by you (you may associate several alias names
with one POP3 account, as well as have some catch-all account -- often the
alias name is set to the employee name) . Additional POP3 email
accounts may be rented. The services described above for each POP3
eMail box apply.
